Maverick

The Ford Maverick may have launched to huge demand in the United States, but its success story is quickly becoming just as compelling here in Canada. Designed as an affordable, efficient, and approachable pickup, the Maverick has proven to be a strong fit for Canadian drivers who want truck utility without the size, cost, or fuel consumption of a full-size model.

According to Ford, Canadian shoppers purchased more than 15,000 Ford Maverick pickups in 2025 alone, bringing total sales north of the border to nearly 40,000 units since the model’s debut. Even more impressive is the Maverick’s conquest performance, with roughly 60 to 70 percent of Canadian buyers coming from other brands. Many of those shoppers previously owned sedans or compact crossovers, highlighting the Maverick’s ability to attract drivers who may never have considered a pickup before.

Loyalty among Maverick owners has also been remarkably strong. In 2025, more than 90 percent of Maverick trade-ins in Canada went toward another Ford vehicle, often a newer Maverick. That kind of retention speaks volumes about owner satisfaction and suggests the truck is delivering on its promise of everyday usability and value.

South of the border, momentum has been just as strong. The Maverick set a new U.S. sales record in Q3 2025, with 34,848 units sold in the quarter and more than 120,000 sold year to date. Around 60 percent of those buyers were new to Ford, reinforcing the truck’s role as a gateway into the brand for a wide range of drivers.

The trend carried into late 2025, with the Maverick posting a 43.3 percent sales increase in November and already locking in a new annual sales record before year-end. The XL trim led the charge with a 76.2 percent increase, underscoring growing demand for affordable, no-nonsense vehicles. Taken together, the data shows that the Ford Maverick is not just selling well, but reshaping what many Canadian buyers expect from a modern pickup.
