Ford Bronco enthusiasts may have just influenced the next big upgrade for their favorite off-road SUV. During his annual cross-country road trip, Ford CEO Jim Farley took the wheel of a Bronco Badlands Sasquatch to experience firsthand how owners use their vehicles on real-world adventures. The three-day journey took him across paved roads, rugged trails, and outdoor campsites – and what he learned could shape the future of the Bronco lineup.

“Customers shared that they want more power options, not just for the vehicle, but to run their gear at campsites and on job sites,” Farley said. The feedback clearly struck a chord. “This trip helped me think hard about what to offer in the U.S. and globally as we balance capability, range, and affordability. I’m so moved by what our Bronco team has accomplished, and I can’t wait for customers to see what we do next.”
Those comments suggest that Bronco fans are asking for Pro Power Onboard – the built-in generator system that first appeared on the 2021 Ford F-150. That feature quickly became one of the most talked-about innovations in the pickup segment, allowing owners to power everything from work tools to campsite gear right from their truck.

Since then, Pro Power Onboard has expanded to other Ford models, including the Super Duty, where it has proven invaluable for contractors and outdoor professionals. It’s even been rumored to be coming to smaller models like the Maverick – so a Bronco version would be a natural next step.
Adding Pro Power Onboard would make the Bronco even more capable for off-grid adventures, rescue work, and weekend camping trips. With demand already strong across Ford’s lineup, Bronco owners could soon enjoy the same portable power advantage that truck owners love.
If Jim Farley’s trip is any indication, the Bronco’s future looks brighter – and more powerful – than ever.
