Ford is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated mid-size EV pickup in 2027, and excitement is already building. Built on a new low-cost platform, the truck will roll out of the Louisville Assembly Plant and is expected to be priced around $30,000 USD, making it one of the most affordable entries in the EV pickup segment. Designed to be closer in size to the Ford Maverick than the Ranger, it aims to blend capability, efficiency, and cutting-edge innovation.

Despite its smaller footprint, Ford says the new EV pickup will be “as fast as a Mustang EcoBoost,” offering a 0–60 mph time that rivals the iconic sports car. Even more impressive, it will boast more passenger room than the Toyota RAV4, one of the best-selling SUVs in North America. With both a frunk and a bed, drivers will also enjoy extra flexibility, plus the ability to lock down gear such as surfboards without needing racks or add-ons.

Performance is another highlight. The truck will take advantage of its low center of gravity and precision-engineered chassis to deliver confident handling and off-road readiness. Coupled with instant EV torque, it promises to be a thrill both on city streets and outdoor trails. Its design will also incorporate downforce for stability, offering a driving experience unlike any other midsize pickup on the market.
While Ford has yet to reveal final specs like range, charging speeds, and battery sizes, reports suggest it will use lithium-iron phosphate batteries, balancing durability and cost efficiency. Production is targeting a maximum annual output of 190,000 units. Rumors also point to a revival of the “Ranchero” nameplate—linking this forward-thinking EV with one of Ford’s most iconic pickups from decades past.
