BlueCruise 1.4 Officially Deploying to 2022–2024 Ford F-150 and Lightning Models

Ford’s advanced hands-free driving system just got a major upgrade. The company has officially begun rolling out BlueCruise 1.4 to select 2022–2024 F-150 and F-150 Lightning models, bringing with it a smoother, more natural driving experience and several new features.

Already standard in the 2025 Ford F-150 and F-150 Lightning, the 1.4 update is now available for earlier model years equipped with BlueCruise 1.0 or 1.2. The upgrade significantly enhances performance, increasing hands-free operation time and refining steering behavior for greater driver comfort and confidence.

According to Ford’s internal testing, BlueCruise 1.4 can remain active in hands-free mode up to eight times longer than version 1.0 and five times longer than 1.2. It also reduces lane deviation by nearly 80 percent, providing a smoother, more centered ride.

New features include In-Lane Repositioning, which automatically adjusts the vehicle’s position to give more room when driving beside large trucks, and Lane Change Assist, which allows hands-free lane changes when the driver signals. Together, these improvements make the system more capable and intuitive than ever.

The rollout will first reach 2022–2024 F-150 Lightning and 2022–2023 F-150 trucks, with other eligible models to follow. Meanwhile, BlueCruise 1.5 — the next-generation version — is currently exclusive to the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E, which features upgraded sensors, cameras, and computing hardware.

For F-150 and Lightning owners, BlueCruise 1.4 delivers the best version yet of Ford’s cutting-edge driver-assistance technology — one that makes every highway drive smoother, safer, and more relaxing.
