The Ford Transit has long been a backbone of commercial fleets across North America, and for the 2026 model year, it is getting a substantial technology refresh. While the current-generation Transit dates back to the 2015 model year, Ford continues to modernize the platform with meaningful updates aimed squarely at business customers.

Visually, the 2026 Ford Transit remains largely unchanged, though it does receive a few exterior tweaks. These include a new Wild Green Metallic paint option for fleet customers, updated exterior badging, and redesigned rear taillamps that integrate Blind Spot Information System sensors when equipped. Most of the real improvements, however, are found beneath the surface.
Inside, the 2026 Transit gains a new 8-inch multi-function digital dashboard display, along with a faster 5G modem and deeper Ford Pro Integration. These upgrades build on the existing 12-inch infotainment screen with SYNC 4 and over-the-air update capability, creating a more connected and future-ready work vehicle.

Safety and driver assistance features also see an expansion. Ford Co-Pilot360 now comes standard across the entire Transit lineup, while Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 is standard on XLT Passenger Vans and optional on Cargo and Passenger Van XL models. Chassis Cab and Cutaway variants gain access to Vehicle Integration System 2.0, Vehicle Maintenance Monitor, Ford Pro Telematics features, and Keyless Push Button Start.
Several practical updates round out the 2026 changes. High-roof Passenger Vans now include 253-degree rear door hinges, improving access for loading and unloading. A new Connectivity Package is available, offering one year of included service with an unlimited Wi-Fi hotspot, Alexa Built-In, audio and video streaming, and optional Connected Navigation. Delivery Assist has been added to the Parcel Delivery Package, while Close Assist is now optional on medium and high roof Cargo and Passenger Vans. Together, these updates reinforce the Ford Transit’s position as one of the most advanced and adaptable commercial vans on the market.
