Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free highway driving assist feature is experiencing remarkable growth, with usage numbers skyrocketing as more drivers embrace the technology. Ford CEO Jim Farley recently announced that over 757,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles worldwide are now equipped with BlueCruise, a significant leap fueled by its expansion into 15 European countries, in addition to the U.S. and Canada. This surge in adoption highlights the feature’s increasing popularity and the growing demand for advanced driver-assistance systems.
The numbers speak for themselves: Ford customers have logged over five million hours with BlueCruise engaged, nearly doubling the usage from 2024. This substantial increase demonstrates the feature’s effectiveness and reliability, encouraging drivers to rely on it for extended highway journeys. The rapid growth also reflects Ford’s successful strategy in making BlueCruise more accessible and appealing to a broader customer base.
Ford’s commitment to enhancing BlueCruise is evident in its continuous improvements and flexible pricing options. In October, Ford introduced a free BlueCruise trial for certified pre-owned BlueAdvantage vehicles, expanding its reach. The company also adjusted its pricing structure, offering both one-year plans and one-time purchase options, along with a 90-day complimentary trial. This flexibility allows customers to choose the plan that best suits their needs and budget, further driving adoption.
Looking ahead, Ford is set to introduce BlueCruise 1.5, which will include a hands-free lane change feature called Automatic Lane Change. This advancement will further enhance the convenience and functionality of BlueCruise, allowing for smoother and more seamless highway driving. By continuously innovating and improving its driver-assistance technology, Ford is solidifying its position as a leader in the autonomous driving space.
