Tim Hortons is taking its iconic “Always Fresh” motto into the electric age. The beloved Canadian coffee chain has announced a major partnership with Quebec-based charging company FLO to install EV fast chargers at 100 restaurant locations across Canada by the end of 2028. The move positions Tim Hortons as the largest restaurant provider of EV fast charging in the country – a big win for Canada’s growing community of electric vehicle drivers.
The rollout has already begun, with the first chargers now live at a Tim Hortons in Regina, Saskatchewan. Each location will feature FLO Ultra fast chargers capable of delivering up to 120 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes, offering the perfect pit stop for drivers to enjoy a coffee and doughnut while topping up their battery.
According to Tim Hortons Chief Marketing Officer Hope Bagozzi, installations are planned across all ten provinces, ensuring coast-to-coast coverage for guests. “We’re thrilled to partner with FLO to make life a little easier for guests driving electric vehicles,” she said in a recent press release.
The initiative is backed by a $235 million loan from the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) to support FLO’s expansion of more than 1,900 public fast charging ports nationwide. FLO CEO Louis Tremblay called the Tim Hortons partnership a “pivotal moment” in making EV charging part of everyday Canadian life. The company’s chargers boast network uptimes of over 98%, giving drivers reliable, fast, and convenient access across the country.
By 2026, 50 Tim Hortons restaurants will have FLO chargers, with the full 100 locations targeted for completion by 2028. Each site will include an average of four charging ports, all accessible through the FLO mobile app. The collaboration not only makes it easier for EV owners to travel with confidence but also demonstrates how Canadian brands can lead the transition toward a cleaner, more connected future.
Whether you’re grabbing your morning double-double or refueling mid-road trip, Tim Hortons’ new partnership with FLO means your next coffee break could also help power your journey forward – one charge (and one coffee) at a time.
