Ford’s popular 7.3L V8 Godzilla engine, initially introduced in the Super Duty and later offered as a crate engine, has gained a reputation for its impressive power potential. Following the Megazilla’s release, a more potent version of the Godzilla producing 615 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque, Ford is now taking things to the next level with the unveiling of the Megazilla 2.0. This new engine promises even more extreme performance for those seeking maximum power.
The Megazilla 2.0 takes the existing Megazilla platform and adds a Gen 6 3.0L Whipple supercharger. This supercharging, combined with the Megazilla’s already robust internals, including forged pistons, forged connecting rods, a steel crank, upgraded valve springs, and ported/polished cylinder heads, is projected to push the engine’s output to over 1,000 horsepower. Final horsepower and torque figures are still being finalized, but the target is clear: extreme power.
While the Megazilla 2.0 offers incredible power potential, it’s important to note that it’s designed for competition use only. Ford intends this engine for off-road racing vehicles, drag cars, and other specialized applications. This means it’s not intended for street use. However, for those involved in motorsports, the Megazilla 2.0 offers a compelling option.
Those interested in acquiring the Megazilla 2.0 will be able to order it through their local Ford dealer or via the Ford Performance catalog starting in Q4 2025. Pricing details have not yet been released. This announcement comes alongside the reveal of another new crate engine: a supercharged version of the 5.0L V8 Coyote, also boasting impressive power figures.
