How much does it cost to charge at home? (Based on BC Hydro rates)

Understanding the cost of charging your electric vehicle is essential. Here's a breakdown of estimated charging costs for Ford's EV lineup, based on BC Hydro's Residential Tiered Rate of 9.08 cents per kWh (effective 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM):

Important Notes:

  • These costs are estimates based on charging from a near-empty state to full capacity. Actual costs may vary depending on your driving habits, charging frequency, and other factors.
  • These calculations assume you are charging during off-peak hours (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) when BC Hydro's electricity rate is 9.08 cents per kWh. Charging during peak hours will result in higher costs.
  • The efficiency of the charger and the vehicle's onboard charging system can also impact the overall cost. Some energy is always lost in the charging process.
  • This is just the cost of the electricity itself. It does not include any potential installation fees for your home charging setup.

By taking advantage of off-peak charging hours, you can minimize your electricity costs and enjoy the benefits of driving electric for less.
