Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology continues to gain momentum, and 2025 marked a breakout year for the feature. As BlueCruise expanded across more Ford and Lincoln vehicles and gained new capabilities, drivers embraced it in record numbers, logging more hands-free miles and trips than ever before.

Over the course of 2025, more than 500,000 additional vehicles equipped with BlueCruise hit the road, representing an 80 percent year-over-year increase. That growth brought the total number of BlueCruise-enabled vehicles worldwide to approximately 1.22 million. Alongside the increase in vehicle availability, overall usage surged, with hands-free miles driven jumping 88 percent compared to the previous year.
Ford reports that BlueCruise users accumulated an impressive 3.8 million hours of hands-free driving in 2025, an increase of 87 percent year over year. Drivers also took approximately 18 million trips with BlueCruise engaged, marking a 48 percent rise. In total, BlueCruise-equipped vehicles covered 264 million miles hands-free during the year.
Among the nine Ford and Lincoln models currently offering BlueCruise, the Ford F-150 once again led the way. F-150 owners accounted for 118 million hands-free miles and logged roughly 1.6 million hours using the system, highlighting how well the technology fits into everyday driving for pickup owners, especially on long highway journeys.
To date, Ford drivers have logged more than half a billion hands-free miles globally using BlueCruise, and that number is expected to grow even faster in 2026. Ford plans to introduce BlueCruise on four additional vehicle lines in Europe and roll out BlueCruise 1.5, which adds Automatic Lane Change and other enhancements. With continued expansion and improvements, BlueCruise is quickly becoming a defining part of the modern Ford driving experience.
