Ford Mustang Mach-E Surpasses 300,000 Miles With Minimal Battery Degradation

Concerns about electric vehicle battery longevity are common among potential EV buyers, but real-world examples continue to show that modern EV batteries are built to last. One impressive case involves a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium, which has now surpassed 300,000 miles while still running on its original battery pack with strong performance.

Owned by California driver David Blenkle, the Mach-E recently crossed 316,000 miles, continuing a remarkable journey that began when he purchased the vehicle new in June 2022. Blenkle uses the electric crossover for his private car service business in the Santa Cruz area, and the vehicle has transported roughly 7,000 passengers during that time. Despite the extremely high mileage, the Mach-E has experienced only about eight percent battery degradation, leaving it with close to 300 miles of usable range today.

This milestone builds on an earlier update from mid-2025, when the same vehicle had already reached 250,000 miles while still delivering around 290 miles of range. According to recent reports, the Mach-E’s battery health has remained strong since then, reinforcing growing evidence that EV batteries can maintain most of their capacity even after hundreds of thousands of miles.

Another notable aspect of this story is how little maintenance the vehicle has required. Over its 300,000-plus miles, the Mach-E has only needed routine service items such as six sets of tires and seven cabin air filters. Thanks to regenerative braking, the original brake pads are still in use. Aside from standard inspections and tire rotations, the electric crossover has not required any major repairs.

Blenkle credits much of the vehicle’s longevity to consistent charging habits and proper maintenance. Most charging is done at home, typically stopping at 90 percent as recommended by Ford, with occasional DC fast charging when needed. Regular multipoint inspections and tire rotations have also helped keep the vehicle performing at a high level.

Stories like this highlight the durability of modern EV technology and reinforce why the Ford Mustang Mach-E continues to be one of the most popular electric vehicles on the road. With strong range, minimal maintenance requirements, and proven long-term reliability, the Mach-E is demonstrating that electric vehicles can deliver exceptional longevity alongside zero-emissions performance.
