Ford has officially rebranded its long-running FordPass app, marking a new chapter in how owners interact with their vehicles. The app is now simply called Ford, serving as the automaker’s primary ownership and vehicle management platform moving forward.

FordPass has been a key tool for owners for years, allowing them to remotely lock and unlock doors, start their vehicle, check fuel levels, schedule service, and view recalls. Over time, it steadily expanded both its feature set and its user base, becoming an essential part of the ownership experience for many Ford drivers.

According to the Apple App Store listing, the change is more than just a new name. The updated Ford app introduces a refreshed design with sharper visuals, improved navigation flows, and support for both light and dark modes. The goal is to make accessing vehicle information faster and more intuitive.
Functionality remains familiar, but with refinements. Owners can still manage remote vehicle controls, mobile keys, drivers, and service appointments. For EV owners, smarter charging features are now more prominently integrated into the main screen, making it easier to monitor charging status and settings at a glance.
The rebrand also reflects the app’s massive growth. As of September, Ford reports that roughly 12 million people are using the app daily, a dramatic increase from just 1.3 million active users in 2020. While Ford has not shared specific reasons for dropping the FordPass name, the move signals a broader push toward a more unified, modern ownership experience under a single Ford-branded digital platform.
