The Ford Mustang Mach-E isn’t just winning new customers — it’s keeping them. According to Experian’s Q2 2025 Automotive Consumer Trends & Analysis Report, the top trade-in for new Mach-E buyers was an older Mach-E, showing exceptional owner loyalty within Ford’s growing EV lineup.

The report found that 7.70 percent of new Mach-E purchases came from previous Mach-E owners, placing it among the top five EVs for loyalty. The Mach-E also drew a notable number of drivers away from Tesla, with 2.98 percent coming from the Model 3 and 2.34 percent from the Model Y — its most direct competitors.
Beyond those EV switches, the Mach-E also attracted loyal Ford drivers from traditional models. The Explorer (5.25 percent), Escape (4.85 percent), F-150 (4.45 percent), and Edge (3.59 percent) were the top four trade-ins among Blue Oval owners upgrading to electric. Many customers also came from other popular crossovers like the Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V, and Toyota RAV4.

This data coincides with Ford’s return to the top of the brand loyalty rankings. According to S&P Global Mobility, Ford’s 59.6 percent brand loyalty led the industry in Q2 2025, ahead of Tesla at 58.1 percent and Chevrolet at 58 percent. Tesla’s loyalty dropped by 9.4 percentage points year-over-year, while Ford continued to gain ground across both EV and traditional segments.
For Ford, the numbers speak for themselves — customers who experience the Mach-E are coming back for another one. And with the brand’s flexible EV strategy, expanding lineup, and customer-first approach, that loyalty is likely to grow even stronger.
