2026 F-150 Lightning Goes All-In on Extended Range Power

The 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning lineup is taking a major step forward in performance and capability. Ford has officially removed the standard-range 98 kWh battery, meaning every Lightning now comes equipped with the extended-range 123 kWh battery pack as standard equipment.

Previously, the standard battery offered around 386 km of range, 452 horsepower, and 775 pound-feet of torque. Now, the extended pack delivers 483 km of range with 536 horsepower and the same 775 pound-feet of torque, giving every Lightning driver more distance and muscle with zero compromise.

The 123 kWh battery is now standard across all trims — including Pro, STX, Flash, Lariat, and Platinum. For drivers who want even more performance, Ford continues to offer an optional 131 kWh battery pack on select trims. That top-tier setup pushes output to 580 horsepower and 515 km of range, and comes standard with Pro Power Onboard for added utility.

The change also comes with a lineup refresh. The XLT trim has been replaced by the new STX, which adds rugged, off-road-inspired design elements and becomes a key part of the 2026 range. Deliveries of the Lightning STX are scheduled to begin in early 2026, starting at $63,345 (USD) before destination charges.

By making the extended-range battery standard, Ford is simplifying choices while maximizing capability — a move that reflects the company’s push toward higher-value, long-range electric trucks that meet both personal and commercial needs.

For EV truck buyers, the message is clear: the 2026 F-150 Lightning is built for the long haul — and it’s now even more capable right out of the box.
