The iconic Ford Mustang is getting a nostalgic makeover with the launch of the 2026 Ford Mustang FX Package, a special edition designed to pay tribute to the beloved Fox Body Mustangs of the late ’80s and early ’90s. While the FX Package doesn’t include mechanical upgrades, it delivers a host of visual enhancements that give the 2026 Mustang GT Premium a distinctly retro feel, making it a must-see for long-time enthusiasts and new fans alike.
Among the most striking changes are the redesigned wheels. Ford offers two variants of 19-inch split-five-spoke wheels—either a performance set with a unique finish or a mid-gloss Oxford White version for non-Performance Package vehicles. The FX Package also adds color-matched center caps with a modern take on the classic Mustang GT wordmark from the 1987–1993 era. Additional exterior details include Oxford White badges for the 5.0L, GT, and Mustang pony logos, along with matching “nostrils” on Performance models. Stylish white taillights included in the package will also be available through Ford Performance Parts.
Inside the cabin, the FX Package continues its retro tribute with modern flair. Recaro sport seats feature perforated black-and-white leather inspired by the plaid inserts seen in original Fox Body models. Accent stitching in City Silver and Adriatic Blue adds a nostalgic touch to the seats, dashboard, center console, and door panels. A special instrument panel badge and trim borrowed from the Dark Horse model complete the transformation.
This package also introduces a new retro-inspired paint color, Adriatic Blue Metallic, further cementing its place as a modern homage to the past. The FX Package is exclusive to the 2026 Mustang GT Premium trim and can be paired with either transmission and body style. With order banks set to open later this month, excitement is building for what else Ford might reveal—possibly including the next Shelby GT500. Stay tuned for more updates as Ford continues to blend heritage and innovation.
