Power Moonroof Joins the 2026 Ford Ranger Lineup for the First Time

The 2026 Ford Ranger is getting a little more sunshine. For the first time in its modern history, the midsize pickup will offer a power moonroof, giving drivers a brighter, more open cabin experience. According to reports, the feature will arrive as a late availability option in Spring 2026, available on both the XLT and Lariat trims.

The addition of a moonroof has been one of the most requested features from Ranger fans since the truck’s redesign in 2024. While Ford hasn’t released official pricing or photos yet, the update marks an exciting step forward for the popular pickup.

Opting for the new power moonroof package will also include a power-sliding rear window, available exclusively with this option on XLT and Lariat models. The feature remains standard on the high-performance Ranger Raptor, while entry-level XL buyers will not have access to the package.

Beyond this major comfort upgrade, the 2026 Ranger lineup receives a few small updates. Two new 17-inch wheel designs will join the range, and a new color called Avalanche replaces Azure Gray. The Black Appearance Graphics Package becomes available with the existing Black Appearance Package, and the FX4 Off-Road Package will finally be offered on the base XL trim.

Since the current Ranger was fully redesigned for the 2024 model year, these modest tweaks make sense. Ford is expected to refresh the Ranger again for 2027, potentially introducing a hybrid variant as the brand continues expanding electrified options across its lineup.

For now, though, the 2026 Ranger’s new power moonroof brings a breath of fresh air — literally — to one of Ford’s most versatile and adventure-ready trucks.
