A brand-new Ford Mustang immersive experience is coming to Los Angeles, and installation is now officially underway. Known as American Icon, the experience is designed to celebrate Mustang history, culture, and performance through a multi-sensory environment that brings the legendary pony car to life.

First announced earlier this year, American Icon aims to immerse visitors in a series of themed spaces featuring historic Mustangs from film, television, and pop culture. The experience will also include interactive elements, dramatic lighting, and large-scale visual installations that highlight the evolution of one of Ford’s most iconic nameplates.
Ford historian Ted Ryan recently shared a behind-the-scenes video showing early installation work at the venue. Among the highlights is a dark blue Mustang that famously appeared on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, now being positioned as part of the exhibit. The video also reveals multiple classic Mustangs staged against custom backdrops, along with advanced lighting and camera setups that hint at a highly polished final presentation.
In addition to static displays, American Icon will feature a 4D thrill ride designed to place guests behind the wheel of a Mustang on both the road and the track. This ride is intended to recreate the sights, sounds, and sensations that have defined Mustang performance over decades, offering a dynamic contrast to the museum-style displays.
The Ford Mustang immersive experience will take place at Ace Mission Studios in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. Tickets are available now, with prices starting at $26 U.S. dollars. For Mustang fans and automotive enthusiasts alike, American Icon promises to be a unique celebration of one of Ford’s most enduring vehicles.
