Ford has officially brought back its truck bed monitoring solution, this time with an updated and more capable system for modern F-Series pickups. After discontinuing the original Canopy Pickup Cam earlier this year, Ford has now introduced the new Ford Truck Bed Camera, giving truck owners a fresh option for added security and peace of mind.

The new Ford Truck Bed Camera is available through the Ford Performance catalog and is designed to provide real-time monitoring of the truck bed when the vehicle is parked and the owner is away. Using the Ford app, owners can remotely view live video footage, helping keep an eye on cargo, tools, or equipment stored in the bed.

This updated camera system features a wide 180-degree field of view, night vision, and HD live-streaming. It also includes AI-powered intrusion monitoring and threat detection, automatic cloud storage, and over-the-air updates that allow the system to gain new features over time. An integrated LED light bar further improves visibility in low-light conditions.
Installation is designed to be straightforward, taking approximately 45 minutes for a do-it-yourself setup, though Ford dealers can also perform the installation if preferred. The camera uses a removable LiFePO4 lithium-ion battery, supports Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, and is compatible with most hard and soft tonneau covers and bed racks. It is not compatible with hard canopies, caps, or camper shells, which would obstruct the camera’s view.
The Ford Truck Bed Camera is compatible with 2024 to 2026 Ford F-150 and Super Duty models. It is priced at $499 U.S. dollars and requires enrollment in the Ford Security Package. That plan includes theft and tampering alerts through the FordPass app, a 24/7 recovery support hotline, and insurance deductible reimbursement of up to $2,500, even in cases where a stolen vehicle was accessed using the original key.
