Charge Where You Sleep

Home charging? This page will talk about home charging: why home charging is the key to a successful EV ownership experience, how inexpensive home charging is compared to public charging, and explain Level 1 and Level 2 charging at home.

Home Charging

For the best EV ownership experience, we recommend having charging at home – even if it’s just Level 1!  Ford has three chargers available for your vehicle if you’d like to keep your setup 100% Ford:

Ford Mobile Power Cord

Your vehicle may have been equipped with the Ford Mobile Power cord to charge your EV as an option.  This charger supports both Level 1 and Level 2 home charging.  If your vehicle didn’t come with one, or you want to order another one, our Parts Department can help you!

Ford Connected Charge Station and the Ford Charge Station Pro

These chargers are available to order directly from FordCharging.ca.  These are both Level 2 chargers and need to be installed by a qualified electrician.

BC Hydro home charging rebates

BC Hydro also has help available for power management devices that can let you install Level 2 charging even if your electrical panel is full, like these DCC wallboxes from RVE.

BC Hydro even has a guide for getting started with installing home charging and finding a qualified electrician.

For the easiest experience, we recommend RocketEV as our preferred home charging installation partner.  They can even help with stratas in condos and townhouses!
