FordPass iOS Widget Now Works in Standby Mode for Greater Convenience

Ford has recently enhanced the FordPass app for iOS users with the addition of a new feature—enabling the FordPass widget to operate in standby mode. This comes as part of the iOS 18 update, which rolled out in November 2024. The update allows Apple iPhone users to access their vehicle’s information even when their phone is in standby mode, making it easier to keep track of their Ford vehicle's status throughout the day.

This feature was confirmed by Chris Tooma, a software and e-commerce specialist at Ford, in a post on X. The new functionality is available with FordPass app version v5.10.0, now available for download from the Apple App Store. Standby mode allows users to check important vehicle details like fuel levels and tire pressure without unlocking their phone or opening the app, which is particularly handy for quick, at-a-glance updates.

In addition to the standby mode, the update also introduces several other improvements to the FordPass app. Owners can now add lock and unlock vehicle commands directly to the iPhone control center, streamlining the process of accessing these features. Home screen widgets have also been added, providing users with quick access to critical vehicle information, such as oil life and tire pressure, and making it easier than ever to monitor vehicle health.

For Ford owners with hybrid or all-electric vehicles, the update also brings added convenience by allowing them to adjust their preferred charge times directly from the energy tab. These enhancements are part of a larger update that improves the overall user experience, giving owners more control and ease of access to their vehicle's information directly from their iPhone. With these updates, Ford continues to integrate innovative technology to enhance the driving experience for its users.
