Ford has long been recognized for its strong performance in the Vincentric Best CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) Value Awards, and this year is no exception. The 2024 awards highlight Ford’s continued excellence across multiple vehicle segments, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in value for truck, SUV, and van owners. Once again, Ford has topped various categories, showcasing its commitment to delivering quality and affordability to Canadian consumers.
In this year’s awards, Ford earned accolades for being the top SUV and van brand among all manufacturers, an achievement that reflects the value provided by its models. This marks the second consecutive year that Ford has secured this distinction. The Blue Oval’s success is attributed to the stellar performances of the Ford Edge and the Ford Expedition Max. The Edge dominated the mid-size SUV/crossover segment, outperforming 22 competitors with ownership costs 6.3% lower than expected. Meanwhile, the Expedition Max distinguished itself by offering the lowest maintenance costs in the full-size SUV category, along with ownership costs that were 7.5% below anticipated levels.
Vincentric’s data-driven approach to these awards involves a comprehensive analysis of ownership costs across eight different factors, including depreciation, taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. Each vehicle was thoroughly evaluated across all ten provinces of Canada, plus the Northwest Territories, using various insurance profiles and an annual driving distance of 20,000 kilometers (12,427 miles). This rigorous methodology ensures that the winners genuinely reflect lower-than-expected ownership costs, making it easier for consumers to make informed decisions.
This year’s awards also highlighted a trend of first-time winners across many segments, indicating a diverse range of high-value options for Canadian shoppers in the CPO market. “For the third year in a row, we’ve seen a trend of a majority of Best CPO Value in Canada award winners being first-time winners in their segments,” noted David Wurster, Vincentric President. “This year saw fourteen first-time winners out of a total of twenty-five vehicle segments, providing Canadian consumers with a wealth of great-value models to consider.” As always, these awards serve as a reliable guide for shoppers looking to maximize their investment in a certified pre-owned vehicle.
