Ford Mustang Production Increased Slightly In September 2024
Posted on October 21, 2024
Ford Mustang production saw a modest increase in September 2024, following a challenging summer at the Flat Rock Assembly plant. After a complete halt in July, Mustang production rebounded in August with 5,659 units built, and in September, production slightly increased to 5,663 units. While this is only a small increase of four vehicles, it brings total production for the year to 44,253 Mustangs. This steady output comes despite typical summer shutdowns and holiday breaks, which had previously slowed production.
Looking ahead, the 2025 Ford Mustang will bring exciting changes, including the introduction of the limited-edition 60th Anniversary Package. This package celebrates Mustang’s heritage with unique styling elements and is limited to just 1,965 units, some of which will feature the classic Brittany Blue color. Additionally, dual-zone automatic climate control will now be standard across all models. However, the 2025 Mustang will lose a few features, including wireless charging, which was previously standard on certain premium trims, and the EcoBoost High Performance Package.
In terms of exterior color options, Ford is making a few adjustments for the 2025 model year. Four colors—Atlas Blue Metallic, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Yellow Splash Metallic Tri-Coat, and Dark Matter Gray Metallic—will no longer be available. To balance these losses, two new colors, Wimbledon White and Molten Magenta Metallic Tri-Coat, will be introduced, giving buyers fresh customization options.
Production of the 2025 Ford Mustang is scheduled to begin on November 4, 2024, at the Flat Rock Assembly plant, though these plans are always subject to change. With new packages and features on the horizon, the 2025 Mustang is set to offer exciting options for enthusiasts, while the modest production recovery shows the resilience of the iconic pony car amidst industry challenges.
