Five Reasons to Choose the 2021 Mustang Mach E Over the 2021 Tesla Model Y

Five Reasons to Choose the 2021 Mustang Mach E Over the 2021 Tesla Model Y

With the introduction of the Ford Mustang Mach-E, it is easy to see that the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) is not going away anytime soon. Over the past several years, Tesla has made its indelible impact across the automotive market and has sent other companies scrambling to build proper EVs and turn an eye to more environmentally friendly and sustainable vehicles.

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E was born out a desire to compete with the electric SUVs offered by Tesla. There is no doubt that the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E holds its own in Vancouver against the 2021 Tesla Model Y. Here are five reasons to choose it.

Smoother Drive

It is easy to determine which vehicle--the Ford or the Tesla--was built with devoted roads in mind. Tested and perfected on the streets of Michigan, the Mach-E offers a ride that is plusher and more polished than the Tesla's.

When the Tesla is on bad pavement, drivers bounce around as if they are on a trampoline. On the other hand, the Mach-E delivers a settled and controlled ride in all situations. It even offers more control on routes with twisting roads.

Better Interior

While Tesla might have introduced a tech-focused cabin, the Mach-E takes things a step further while offering technology without removing warmth. The Model Y is cold and sterile while the Mach-E is clean and fresh-feeling.

The Mach-E's more refined cabin features a tiered dashboard design with contours, inlays, and trim pieces that provide a more upscale, luxurious feel than the Model Y's interior that is devoid of character or any other visual interest.

Better Technology

Tesla relies on as ingle 15.0-inch horizontal tablet display for all vehicle controls and information. It is a clean and simple layout, but it can be off-putting to drivers.

Instead, Ford used a dual-screen approach in the Mach-E with a 1.5-inch portrait-oriented tablet in the centre and an additional second screen to serve as an instrument cluster directly in front of the driver.

Less Expensive

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is available in four model varieties in Vancouver and throughout Canada. Starting at $50,495, these include Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT Performance Edition.

On the other hand, Tesla only offers the 2021 Model Y in two model variations: Long Range and Performance. The Long Range has an initial starting price of $51,990. The Mustang Mach-E offers more model variety and a better price tag than the Tesla.

More Options

Ford offers the 2021 Mustang Mach-E with a variety of performance options that makes it more customisable than the Tesla Model Y. Perhaps the biggest difference is that buyers can choose either all-wheel drive (AWD) or rear-wheel drive (RWD) for the Mach-E depending on the driving characteristics they want, while the Model Y is only available with AWD.
