2025 Ford Ranger Gets Dealer Installed Keyless Entry Keypad

Ford has been making some significant changes to its vehicles recently, particularly with the elimination of the factory-installed SecuriCode keyless entry keypad. This shift means that customers will now have to rely on a dealer-installed version for several models. The latest addition to this list is the 2025 Ford Ranger, which now offers the option to add this keyless entry system as an accessory. As the build and price configurator for the Ranger goes live, it’s clear that Ford is continuing its trend of streamlining features across its lineup.
For the 2025 Ford Ranger, the dealer-installed SecuriCode keypad is available for $225 USD. This keypad can be ordered for any trim or configuration within the Ranger lineup. Once purchased, the keypad will be shipped separately, and a Ford dealer can install it for you. This change is part of a broader movement by Ford to offer more customization options while reducing production complexity.
The 2025 Ford Ranger is not alone in this transition; several other models have already made the switch to a dealer-installed keyless entry option. This includes the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning, the refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer, the updated 2025 Ford Super Duty, and the 2025 Ford F-150. As the automotive landscape evolves, Ford is adapting its offerings to align with customer preferences and operational efficiencies.
While the 2025 Ford Ranger maintains much of its core design from the previous model year, it will see minor updates, such as the addition of new color options for the Ranger Raptor—specifically Marsh Gray and Desert Sand. Interestingly, the XLT trim has become slightly cheaper this year, dropping by $150 USD. However, other trims have seen a modest price increase, with the Lariat and Raptor rising by $100 USD, while the XL has a more substantial increase of $260 USD. Overall, these updates reflect Ford's ongoing commitment to enhancing its vehicles while offering flexibility and value to its customers.
