The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E has once again proven its excellence, earning recognition as one of Consumer Reports’ Best EVs of 2025. With notable updates and enhancements, the all-electric crossover impressed reviewers with its performance, styling, and innovative features, solidifying its place as a top contender in the competitive EV market.
To create its annual Best EVs list, Consumer Reports evaluates eligible vehicles based on road tests, predicted reliability, owner satisfaction, and safety. The 2025 Mustang Mach-E scored an impressive 68 points, securing second place behind the Hyundai Ioniq 6. While its road test performance and predicted owner satisfaction were standout areas, the Mach-E was rated average for predicted reliability. Despite this, it remains one of the most well-rounded EVs on the market.
Consumer Reports praised the Mach-E’s iconic Mustang-inspired design, spacious cargo area, and all-wheel-drive (AWD) capabilities. The extended-range AWD variant tested by CR achieved an impressive 299 miles of range during highway testing, and its 10-hour home charging time adds convenience for drivers. During road tests, reviewers highlighted its quick acceleration, quiet ride, and agile handling, though they noted a “jittery and unsettled” ride at times. The 15.5-inch infotainment display received mixed feedback for its dominance in the minimalist interior, but advanced features like BlueCruise driver assistance helped balance this criticism.
For 2025, the Mustang Mach-E brings exciting updates, including a new standard heat pump and the Premium trim’s optional Sport Appearance Package, which features striking black accents and 19-inch high-gloss black wheels. Additionally, it’s among the first Ford vehicles to feature BlueCruise 1.5 with automatic lane change functionality.
