2025 Ford Mustang GTD Nürburgring Results Coming This Month: Video

Ford has set its sights on achieving a major milestone with the 2025 Mustang GTD – becoming the first American manufacturer to produce a car that can lap the Nürburgring in under seven minutes. This goal has been part of the GTD’s identity since its reveal, with Ford working to conquer Germany’s iconic “Green Hell” racetrack. While the Mustang GTD has been spotted on the Nürburgring before, recent attempts in early October were hampered by poor weather. However, Ford has shared that more results from their pursuit are expected later this month.

The automaker has been documenting its journey in a film titled *Road to the Ring*, which details the challenges they’ve faced in their quest for Nürburgring supremacy. A teaser of the film has been released, with the full version set to drop soon, promising an exciting update on the Mustang GTD’s lap time.

The Mustang GTD is an engineering marvel, boasting a 5.2L supercharged V8 that generates a staggering 815 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. Capable of reaching 202 mph, the GTD benefits from race car technology, such as a dry sump oiling system to ensure optimal engine lubrication during extreme cornering.

Aerodynamics play a crucial role in the GTD’s performance, enabling it to deliver jaw-dropping track times. Features like a Drag Reduction System (DRS) allow the rear wing and front flaps to adjust for a balance of speed and grip, helping the GTD stay competitive on one of the world’s toughest tracks. All eyes are now on Ford as the results of this groundbreaking mission are set to be revealed soon.
