The 2025 Ford Maverick, unveiled in late July, marks the first refresh for this compact pickup since its debut in 2022. Alongside updated exterior styling, the new Maverick introduces a larger infotainment screen, cabin enhancements, and the sporty new Lobo variant. Production of this updated model began on November 11th at Ford’s Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico, and more features are set to be added in February 2025 during “Job 2” production. These upcoming additions include Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, currently standard on the Lariat trim, expanding towing support for Maverick drivers.
In addition to these upgrades, Ford is introducing other changes in the 2025 Maverick’s lineup. Notably, the keyless entry keypad – previously a factory-installed feature – is now available as a dealer-installed option. The new Lobo trim will also offer a more budget-friendly version as part of the Job 2 production rollout. Additionally, Ford has expanded options for the hybrid powertrain, now available with all-wheel drive. However, front-wheel drive is no longer available for the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 EcoBoost models, and the Lariat trim with this engine option has been discontinued.
The 2025 Maverick does come at a higher price than the 2024 model but offers enhanced value through increased standard equipment. The updated model includes a digital instrument gauge cluster and a larger 13.2-inch screen powered by Ford’s SYNC 4 system. Though the EcoBoost engine has dropped 12 horsepower compared to last year, it still offers a solid performance package. Despite the price hike, the Maverick remains a compelling choice in Ford's lineup, particularly for those seeking a compact truck with modern tech and driving assistance features.
Another noteworthy change is that the Tremor Off-Road Package, previously an add-on for the XLT and Lariat trims, is now a standalone trim based on the Lariat. With these new features, trim adjustments, and design upgrades, the refreshed 2025 Ford Maverick aims to appeal to a broad audience looking for a versatile, compact truck with the latest tech and towing capabilities.
