2020 Ford F-150 vs 2019 Ford F-150: What's New This Year
Posted on January 11, 2020
Since the mid-1970s, the Ford-F150 has dominated the full-sized pickup truck sector. However, just because the F-150 is the best truck on the market doesn't mean that it can't still be better. This year, Ford has added several new features to the F-150 to make it more convenient and more impressive than ever before.
A New Year, A New Colour
When it comes to the exterior's style, not much has changed on the 2020 Ford F-150. However, last year, the F-150 was offered in 10 different colours including Race Red, Oxford White, and Stony Grey. In addition to the colours that were available last year, there will now be four more colour choices, which include Rapid Red, Lead Foot, Star White, and Iconic Silver.
Other than the colour options, the exterior of the 2020 F-150 looks the same as the previous year model. The 2020 F-150 will also offer the same trim levels including the LX, the XLT, the Lariat, the Raptor, the King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.
Interior Features
The F-150's interior was specifically designed with comfort and convenience in mind. The regular cab version offers a moderate amount of interior space while also providing enough legroom and headspace for three adults to comfortably fit inside. The SuperCab and the SuperCrew offer an abundance of space in the rear seats, while also featuring flat floorboards that make it easy to haul cargo inside the truck.
Beyond the steering wheel lies an available 8-inch productivity screen. This fully-customizable, digital screen enables the driver to obtain all of the important information about the vehicle with just a quick glance so that they never have to take their eyes off of the road for more than an instant.
Upgraded Safety Features
One of the most impressive features of the 2019 F-150 was the Ford Co-Pilot 360. This system provided drivers with a full suite of driver assistant features to help make the truck a little safer. The Ford Co-Pilot 360 came with advanced features including:
- Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
- Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert
- Automatic High Beams
- Rear View Camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist
This year, the F-150 still comes with the Ford Co-Pilot 360 system, but Ford added a few new features to the system for certain trims. Adaptive Cruise Control with start-and-stop technology as well as a voice-activated navigation system will now be available on the Limited and Platinum trims.
Unparalleled Power
Just like with the 2019 model, the 2020 F-150 will till offer six different engine options, including 3.0-litre Power Stroke TurboDiesiel. For drivers who are looking for gas-powered options, the 3.5-litre EcoBoost offers the best-in-class torque and 375 horsepower.
