October wasn’t a month of ghouls and goblins. It was instead a month of charity - with the We Scare Hunger event showcasing the generosity of every Key West Ford customer.
Throughout October, we urged our customers to spare a little time (and a few canned goods) for those in need. The response was inspiring. We’re proud to announce that we received more than 6,000 pounds of non-perishable goods. This - along with our exclusive Go Fund Me campaign, which generated more than $10,000 - has allowed us to battle childhood hunger in New Westminster.
All donations have been taken to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank - where they’ll be distributed among local families, providing hope and health for the season. We are incredibly touched by the actions of our customers and we share our sincere thanks to those who participated.
The We Scare Hunger event delivers good will to those who most deserve it. We’re grateful for the kind donations that were offered - and we know that families across New Westminster are reaping the rewards of that charity.
October is coming to an end - and Key West Ford intends that ending to be a happy one. Throughout the month, we’ve embraced community sprit, urging our customers to participate in the We Scare Hunger event. This has allowed us to raise thousands of dollars for local food banks, as well as collect stacks of non-perishables.
It’s not enough, though.
Today the We Scare Hunger event ends - and we wish to make the most of every remaining hour. Join us as we rally against childhood hunger, offering New Westminster families the aid they deserve. Our showroom is open, allowing customers to bring in their final donations. Please consider sparing a few dollars or a few cans to help those in need.
We’re been humbled by the response to the We Scare Hunger event - and we greatly appreciate the many efforts of our customers. Thank you all for your kindness and your generosity. Your contributions will have lasting impacts among the community.

October will soon come to an end - leaving New Westminster residents scrambling to prepare for the inevitable Christmas rush, with November serving as a lengthy holiday prelude. All thoughts will be channeled toward yule tide greetings and evergreen boughs. It will be a time of celebration, merriment, and family togetherness.
For some, however, it will be a time of lingering hunger.
As the holidays draw ever-closer, Key West Ford urges our customers to spare a moment to remember those less fortunate - with thousands of local families unable to secure the proper nutrition. Please consider donating to our We Scare Hunger drive, an event that offers hope to those need it most.

In the Key West Ford showroom sits a collection of boxes - all serving as tributes to our customers and their generosity, all brimming with non-perishables. Throughout October we’ve encouraged B.C. drivers to bring both food and spare dollars to our dealership, making them part of our We Scare Hunger event. These weeks has passed in a blur of canned goods and community spirit.
There is, however, still so much to do.
According to Statistics Canada, approximately 5% of children suffer from food insecurity - unsure of when their next meals will arrive. Their homes often feature empty cupboards and bare pantries, with limited access to proper nutrition offered throughout the week. This leaves thousands of boys and girls struggling each day.
We Scare Hunger introduces those struggles to the B.C. public - emphasizing the need for donations and the importance of local food banks. These banks serve as the lifelines for many families, providing them with crucial nutrients. By bringing non-perishables to our dealership, our customers can help to continue this tradition of community service.
Let’s fight against food insecurity in Canada. Participate in the We Scare Hunger event and deliver hope to children across New Westminster and beyond.
It’s a collection of cans - all stacked neatly in your pantry, their labels stark and white. Each promises bold flavors and long-lasting value, with their expiration dates extending into the new year. They will be perfect for the We Scare Hunger event, delivering nutrition to those in need.
Some, however, may offer greater value than others.
During our We Scare Hunger event, Key West Ford is accepting non-perishable donations from our customers. These donations will be sent to local food banks, helping to combat childhood hunger. While all goods are appreciated, there are certain items that will prove more useful to charities - delivering the good calories and hearty ingredients that families crave.
These foods connect children to the proteins they need, helping to improve their health and restore their hope. We encourage our customers to bring all goods to our showroom to ensure that they’re properly distributed among local community centers, shelters, and more.
The We Scare Hunger event lasts until October 31st. To learn more about non-perishable donations contact us today.

Local Food Donations Intent On Scaring Hunger Away
The We Scare Hunger event is intended to mobilize our local communities and deliver less fortunate children something they need – nutrition.
Ford has teamed up with the We organization to help make this happen. The idea is to help combat the reality of children going hungry while raising overall awareness.
