In 1965 Ford stunned the world by placing one of their signature vehicles - the Mustang - atop the Empire State Building. It was a publicity stunt never before attempted, capturing the attention of drivers and racing enthusiasts alike.
In celebration of the Mustang’s 50th anniversary - as well as the arrival of the 2015 Mustang - the automotive giant is trekking back to New York’s most iconic building. There engineers will carefully disassemble their latest pony-car and carry it piece by piece to the top. It’s a journey that critics estimate will take six hours to complete.
Such efforts will prove well worth the time, however, when the 2015 Mustang is revealed to the public. Visitors will be able to observe the car on April 16 and April 17, getting an up-close view of its striking new frame and powerhouse mechanics.
