Well worth the trip, no pressure sales team.
We live on the Sunshine Coast with a limited selection of the type of car we were looking for, the Keywest web site had a few on their lot so we made a call to Michael and planned to drop by on the weekend. Not only did we find what we were looking for, a week later we decided we loved the model, the Fusion Titanium, but didn't like the colour, so we came back and traded it in for a year newer fully loaded model and true to Michael's word, the swap was seamless. All other car salesmen could benefit from following Michael around for a day because his style, attitude and sense of humour is very refreshing compared to the agents we dealt with before coming to Keywest. There was absolutely no sales pressure and we were never rushed or pushed into anything, we told him what we wanted and he bent over backwards to make it happen, no detail was overlooked, right down to programming our navigation system to get us back to the ferry terminal. Thank you Michael and the rest of the Keywest team, you guys break the stereotype of the used car salesman.

In 1964 endurance racing had swept the world. Drivers from every country craved the high speeds of the Sebring, Le Mans and Daytona courses; and manufacturers hurried to create vehicles that could withstand the sport's brutal pace.
At the time Formula One giants Porsche and Ferrari dominated the lanes - but Ford was soon to change that with the introduction of its GT40.
The GT40 (which is the precursor of the GTO) stunned drivers and sponsors alike when it first arrived on the track. This precision pony-car featured a Shelby 298 VI V-8 engine, a Colotti T37 transmission and sophisticated Girling disc brakes: easily branding it the top car of any season. Its remarkable power was exceeded only by its maneuverability and, during Ford’s first foray into endurance racing, this vehicle surpassed all others.
Now the world’s second oldest GT40 is available at auction.
Travel to Houston, Texas and witness history in the making. Premier auction house, Mecum, will sell a 1965 GT40 prototype to the highest bidder. This extraordinary car - which is one of only 107 produced from 1964 to 1967 - has been carefully restored, and the original integrity of its mechanics remains in tact. It is one of the few surviving GT40 models and represents one of Ford’s most dynamic years.
The auction is expected to draw crowds from across the globe and bidding should be strong. Those wishing to attend this Mecum drawing should arrive early.
