Ford Launches Mother’s Day Test-Drive

(Posted on May 6, 2015 at 06:38AM by Lee Byard)

Every day mothers take to the streets - hurrying from store to store to complete their seemingly endless errands; serving as providers, chauffeurs and backseat entertainers; mastering turn signals and traffic patterns alike. Every mile yields another task to accomplish.

Ford has the utmost respect for these tireless women - which is why it now challenges those without children to sample a typical parental experience. Watch below as the company launches the ultimate Mother’s Day test.

On May 10th Mother’s Day will begin. Join Ford and the Key West team in wishing each woman much health and happiness (and offer to do the driving for once)!

In 1968 the world was introduced to Hot Wheels. These die-cast toys - which were scale models of fastback favorites, like the Mustang, the Camaro or the Barracuda - were instantly embedded into pop-culture, thrilling children and adults alike.

Now the Hot Wheels brand has been launched yet again into the spotlight... thanks to Ford.

The company - wanting to inspire young minds with science and design - recently created the world’s largest Hot Wheels loop, setting a record with a staggering 150-inch spiral. Want to see it action?

Ford’s Hot Wheels project was meant to capture childrens’ imaginations, translating STEM algorithms into toys and showcasing what engineering could accomplish. We think this experiment succeeded - don’t you?

Ford Engages In Smart Mobility Experiment

(Posted on Apr 30, 2015 at 01:59AM by Lee Byard)

Ford understands that mastering the road requires far more than EcoBoost engines and V8 power. Instead Smart Mobility - a series of algorithms and data protocols, all continuously feeding drivers information - is needed.

This is why the company recently launched the Big Data Drive.

The Big Data Drive serves as a way to conduct real-time experiments, utilizing cloud technology to examine driver habits, including: fuel efficiency, braking, speeding, route choices and more. This allows Ford to better understand how each vehicle is being used and how to then improve it.

Want to see more? Watch the video below!

Smart Mobility promises enhanced vehicle performance. By collecting data Ford can learn what drivers need to succeed on the open road - and this will translate to more effective designs and stronger mechanics.

The Key West team can’t wait!

(Posted on Apr 29, 2015 at 11:41AM by Lee Byard)

It’s a familiar moment: you pull from the curb, hoping to take advantage of a rare traffic lull. You’ve checked your mirrors; you’ve turned on your signals; you’ve even asked your passengers to scout potential problems. They find none and so... you roll toward the road.

That’s when a truck comes barreling over the hill and nearly crashes into you.

Ford understands that even the most cautious drivers can find themselves in dangerous situations - and that’s why the company has developed a new 180-degree camera system for its 2015 S-MAX. Prepare to see clearly and stay safe.

With the release of the 2015 S-Max Ford is bringing new levels of safety to the road. The 180-degree camera promises quicker responses and easier navigation, allowing drivers to see beyond even the sharpest corners. Watch What Happens When Kids Take Over Ford

(Posted on Apr 28, 2015 at 05:49AM by Lee Byard)

On April 22nd Ford - along with countless other companies throughout North America - celebrated Take Your Kids To Work day, an annual event meant to introduce young minds to the facets of industry. The automotive giant challenged its littlest employees to come up with new design options for future cars, as well as to create social media strategies.

The results were... interesting, to say the least.

Want to see what happens when children take over Ford? Watch the video below for a behind-the-scenes look at the manufacturing process!

Is this the future of Ford? The Key West team sees creativity, ingenuity and a great sense of fun - and these things are always welcomed within the automotive world.

Did you celebrate Take Your Kids To Work day? Was it as successful as Ford's? Let us know!

Man’s best friend is also often his best driving companion. Dogs have become friendly fixtures of the open road - always eager for an adventure, always ready for fun.

They’re also always on alert, as one Ford driver proves.

Watch below as the company shares yet another animated tale: this one about a car, a dog and an accident that was prevented. This family vacation will never be forgotten!

Do you have a dog-related story to tell? Send it to Ford! Its social hub is always open for submissions and yours may be the one chosen for an animated experience!

Be sure to let the Key West team know if that happens. We’d love to post it here!

The European market is defined by superior style. Manufacturers dedicate themselves to crafting cars that are both economical and effortless, emphasizing luxury with every chrome-covered line.

Until recently, Ford had made little impact in Great Britain, Germany and other auto powerhouses. The company was famed more for its backroad adventures than its elegant designs. With the introduction of the 2015 Vignale Mondeo, however, this will soon change.

Watch below as Ford revs toward luxury branding.

The Vignale Mondeo - with its 2.0L EcoBoost engine and 237 HP capabilities - delivers power and performance. This vehicle boasts far more above the hood than beneath, however, and its aesthetics are undeniable. Drivers will soon enjoy polished aluminum accents, a supple interior and bold LED styling.

The Key West team is sad to report that this styling isn’t available in BC. Ford is keeping the Mondeo cloistered in Europe and currently has no plans to bring the car overseas. We’ve got our fingers crossed, however, that a future expansion may occur - especially if sales prove high.

We’ll be sure to keep you informed of any changes!
