First Time Purchase
4.85
As first time new car purchasers, my fiancé and I were delighted with the experience of purchasing our new 2018 Ford Escape. Peter made us feel at ease, and let us see a variety of vehicles, even going as far as pulling them out of their parking spots to let us see each and every car in a bit more open area. Peter was kind, light-hearted and didn’t make us feel pressured into making any decisions. He was up front about the previous ownership of the vehicle we decided on, and even printed off the reports for us to keep. When we had further questions, he brought Wes over to meet with us and discuss the vehicle further. It was so nice, being first time buyers, to have a pressure-free and up front conversation about our new purchase. We highly recommend Peter, and the entire Key West team, to help you find your new vehicle!

Exactly the vehicle we were looking for

Robert was extremely knowledgeable and personable from the first phone call to his most recent follow up call. We had done our research and were looking for a specific Ford F150 that could pull our fifth wheel trailer. Robert listened carefully and suggested that we come in and see the one used vehicle that met our criteria. Never pushy but friendly and excellent at his job. Wanted to make the deal but willing to negotiate and make sure that we satisfied with the process. Highly recommend Robert to any of my friends and thanks for making the buying experience pleasurable.

Drivers ‘Focus’ On Ford

(Posted on Apr 9, 2013 at 10:04AM by Lee Byard)

Success within the automotive industry is hard to find. It's measured by sales and innovation, and many dealers are unable to combine the two. They may offer a bold design that flounders or a weak design that flourishes. Power and performance rarely connect.

Ford proves to be the exception... because in 2012 its Focus option was both a striking sedan and the world’s top-selling car.

In 2012 the Ford Focus was an undeniable presence. This compact sedan sold over 1,020,410 global units. It dominated every sales chart, finding fans in North America, Asia, Europe and more.

The Focus--a Ford standard since 1998, with a five-door hatchback style--is an option that appeals to many. Its compact shape promises fuel efficiency; its easy lines prove timeless; and its responsive mechanics deliver consistent speeds. It adapts to families and driving enthusiasts alike, making it an obvious choice for the international market.

2012 was an exceptional year for Ford. 2013 should be the same.

Hybrid technology is the center of much contention. Most vehicles--although well-intentioned--sacrifice style for efficiency, power for plug-ins. The result is an unbalanced market, with drivers forced to compromise again and again.

Ford is changing that.

The 2013 Fusion Energi has been welcomed into the Ford family. This plug-in hybrid (a next generation take on the original Fusion) seeks to revitalize the market, offering signature Ford style and driver-friendly mechanics.

The Energi--a striking wagon with a 2-liter engine and 188 HP capacity--adapts to daily needs. It boasts a 21-mile range on electric power, as well as a 620 mile range per full tank. This generates an estimated 47 MPG on both the city streets and the highway, sparing drivers the need for constant refueling and ensuring total efficiency.

This combines with sterling mechanics (like a regenerative braking system, electric power-assist steering and a lithium ion battery supporter) for a hybrid that doesn’t disappoint.

Drivers can now discover all the benefits of a plug-in wagon and none of the failings.

Ford Offers Drivers the Ultimate Control

Every Ford vehicle is carefully designed. Details are examined; mechanics are tested; and the result is excellence.

Drivers can now, however, transform excellence into perfection.

At Ford’s Research and Innovation Center--located in Dearborn, Michigan--engineers are redefining driver comfort. Contoured seats will soon be offered, allowing individuals to tailor their vehicles to their specific needs and standards.

With support from the Human Occupant Package Simulator (HOPS) lab, Ford technicians are developing multi-functional seats for future cars. Drivers can interact with these seats--whether through voice command or a touch screen-- and dictate the levels of firmness, lower lumbar support, air bladder resistance, temperature and more. This provides customization for every car owner.

Comfort is no longer hoped for. It’s offered.

Ford takes the simple concept of seating and turns it into an experience. Future cars (like the Mustang or the Fiesta) will provide peerless performances and undeniable convenience.

The Future Of Ford Vehicles

It’s an age of movie magic. Hollywood--forever determined to create bigger, brighter films--has perfected the use of motion capture technology. With it entire worlds have been created, blending digital imagery with human grace. The progress is astounding.

It’s also now found at Ford.

Ford is recognized as an automotive giant. Its peerless collection of wagons, trucks and rally-cars has made it a leader in both the domestic and international markets. As of 2013, however, it’s delving into the motion capture arena... all in the name of driver comfort.

At Ford’s Research and Innovation Center, located in Dearborn, Michigan, engineers are working tirelessly to improve future vehicles. Utilizing a Human Occupant Package Simulator (known more commonly as a HOPS lab), these individuals analyze the way drivers move, examining how the body bends as it enters and exits a car. Countless variables--such as seat heights, steering wheel placements, door positions and more--are dissected.

The purpose of this is to craft more user-friendly cars. With a HOPS lab engineers can eliminate discomfort, tailoring each Ford vehicle (from the Fusion to the F-150) to the needs of drivers. This technology creates a stronger future for both the company and its consumers.

Hollywood is no longer the king of motion capture.

Ford Offers Drivers the EcoBoost Option

(Posted on Apr 1, 2013 at 06:48AM by Lee Byard)

Driving is more than a collection of white lines and stop signs. It’s instead the North American pastime. The open road is considered the ultimate destination.

Recent economic concerns, however, have redefined this philosophy. Drivers fret about the cost of fuel, are no longer willing to indulge in traveling. Cars have been branded necessities and nothing more.

Ford is now changing this.

In 2013 Ford is launching a campaign to emphasize its EcoBoost technology. This option allows lower-displacement engines to receive power and mileage rates comparable to their larger counterparts. This is achieved through direct-injection turbocharging, offering every car a consistent burst of speed. It also delivers over 20% greater fuel efficiency, with drivers able to use less gasoline every day.

And this is essential for today’s market.

Ford’s EcoBoost option--now found in everything from the Flex to the F-150--helps to reshape driving. It transforms smaller engines into powerhouses and reduces overall costs, saving money without sacrificing performance.

The open road is calling once again.

2014 Ford Fiesta: An International Success

No brand better defines the North American automotive market than Ford. Its innovative designs are rivaled only by its peerless mechanics, making it a favorite from coast to coast.

The new 2014 Ford Fiesta ST, however, draws inspiration from beyond North America. Instead it offers international flair.

The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST is an exercise in cooperation, sampling elements from the global market. This striking option--a six-speed wagon with a 1.6 liter turbo engine and 197 HP capabilities--was first conceived in Germany. It was then perfected in Belgium, tested again and again on the grounds of Lommel, before being shipped to Mexico for assemblage. The final addition was an United Kingdom engine, bolstering the Ford’s already considerable power.

This pattern is unique... but also essential. It allows Ford to create a car that is meant for every driver, adapting worldwide ideas to this turbocharged wagon. Success is secured through collaboration.

North American markets will soon receive international support.

The Ford Fusion Now Fights Allergies

The Ford Fusion is internationally recognized as a mid-sized option for every driver, blending fuel economy and timeless style. Since its debut in 2006 it’s earned much acclaim, setting the standard for sedans with its innovative engineering.

Now, however, it’s offering drivers yet another reward: allergy relief.

The 2013 Ford Fusion is proving itself to be a must-have vehicle for the sneezing, wheezing masses. This option--known already for its reliable engine and sophisticated technology--now promotes full allergy protection.

The Fusion boasts a cabin filter that effortlessly captures pollutants, like dust or mold. Redesigned interiors (including the seats, steering wheel, armrests and more) are crafted from materials less likely to cause reactions, no longer relying on traditional latex or chromium. An available Allergy Alert app even syncs with the Ford, monitoring daily particle levels and warning drivers of potential problems.

These elements are vital for allergy-sufferers, allowing them to embrace the open road instead of dreading it.

A day without sneezing is a day well spent.

Owner Stories: Claude Villeneuve and his 2013 C-MAX

Owner Stories: Claude Villeneuve and his 2013 C-MAX

The all-new 2013 Ford C-MAX is an exciting addition to our lineup. Making headlines as Ford Canada’s first dedicated hybrid lineup, it’s already impressing owners. The Ford Blog saw this first-hand when we chatted with Montreal’s Claude Villeneuve, one of the first C-MAX buyers in Canada.

Advanced fuel efficiency was the main reason this deliveryman, who drives more than 60,000 kilometres a year, settled on the C-MAX Hybrid. After owning five Ford Focuses – fuel efficient cars in their own right – he decided to make the jump to hybrids. Powered by both an electric and gasoline engine, the C-MAX Hybrid is a great way to maximize fuel-efficiency, while helping you save money at the gas station.

In addition to its fuel economy, Claude was surprised at the quietness of his C-MAX Hybrid. After 12 hours behind the wheel each day, it’s a luxury that helps him arrive home much more relaxed. As well, he said that after test-driving several different hybrids, he preferred the C-MAX because of its “sporty ride.”

Claude admitted that he quickly fell in love with the navigation system and the hands-free calling, two of the features of SYNC with MyFord Touch. But what’s the one feature he can’t live without? Heated door mirrors! “Once you’ve experienced it, you can’t go back,” he said. The C-MAX Hybrid is filled with unique technology that makes life easier, such as Foot-Activated Liftgate and Active Park Assist.

“Without a doubt, I would recommend Ford to my friends,” Claude added. “For sure, my next ride will still be a Ford.”

2014 Ford Fiesta Boasts 1.0L Ecoboost, ST Model, and More!

(Posted on Feb 27, 2013 at 11:32AM by Flynn)

2014 Ford Fiesta Boasts 1.0L Ecoboost, ST Model, and More!

Presented at the most recent Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2014 Ford Fiesta is an improvement over the 2012 edition. This little subcompact has been available in North America for two years, but slow sales motivated Ford to offer a version that packaged a more attractive design and energy efficient engines.

Visually, what we initially see from the new front end of the Fiesta is a view that offers more modern lines and an "Aston Martin" style grill, typical of current offerings from American manufacturers. Truthfully, it suits the car well, giving the small subcompact a sporty and aggressive look. In it's category, it's difficult to find another car as attractive as this 2014 model. The interior has also benefited from a refresh by Ford. The dash and centre console have been left modernized, even futuristic feeling, while remaining humble and offering the necessary essentials without the frills.

Initially, Ford will be offering the 2014 with the same engine as on the previous model. The most amazing version, the Fiesta ST, will be fitted with a four-cylinder 1.6 litre Eco Boost engine, generating no less than 197 horses and 215 pounds of torque. The 2014 ST is also equipped with a sportier suspension.

Later in the year, patient drivers will enjoy the EcoBoost 1.0-litre engine version. This is an amazing small three-cylinder equipped with a turbocharger that can rotate up to 248,000 rpm! It puts out a respectable 123 HP, given the characteristics of this motor. The icing on the cake is that the fuel consumption is estimated at about 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres. Under the right conditions, it could even fall below 5 litres. The only transmission offered with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost model will be a five-speed manual. Ford hasn't ruled out an automatic, but nothing is planned in the short term.

With this release, Ford is expected to significantly increase its market share and displace it's competition, reinforcing it's position in the increasingly competitive subcompact market. See you in the spring at Key West Ford to take possession of your next Fiesta 2014!

An Unexpected Collection: Visiting Langley

Tags:
(Posted on Feb 15, 2013 at 05:53PM by Lee Byard)

A first impression is hard to forget... but it’s not always accurate.

Tucked within Langley, B.C. is a shed. A quick glance would offer nothing of importance, just a slanted roof and the faded glint of aluminum siding. It boasts a plain history and a plainer setting. There’s nothing worthwhile to find.

This is what many car enthusiasts would assume.

They would be wrong.

Inside this shed is a staggering collection of vehicles and memorabilia. Gleaming black and white floors greet guests as they enter, with lights drenching the space, showcasing the chrome grills and chassis curves. Long rows of cars--from classic Thunderbirds to modern Mustangs--fill the corners: their conditions pristine, their values immeasurable.

Step back into the age of muscle cars and rock-and-roll. Within this Langley shed guests will discover more than vintage vehicles. Instead they’ll find a slice of Americana: neon signs flooding the walls, the scratch of jukebox records and a city-worthy setting (complete with a corner store, garage and burger joint). The 50s-inspired style is as charming as it is undeniable.

Take time to make another first impression. Visit Langley today... and then come to Key West Ford to find the right vehicle to begin your own collection.
