We were shopping for a new truck and were having pretty bad luck for various reasons. We found a ttuck posted on Key West Ford's website that was in our price range and everything we were looking for. We contacted Micheal and it was smooth sailing from there! Being very set on keeping our budget we went in to negotiate and view the truck. It was just what we were looking for and Micheal made the numbers work for us by paying us fair price for our trade in, this stood out to us as we had been insulted at other dealerships by how little they were trying to give us! I decided it was time for me to get a newer car, because I had a 2005 pontiac sunfire that was beginning to give me problems. I had searched other dealerships before that could possibly help me out with my situation. They would meet with me and see what i wanted, then they would do the financials and credit history, and i would have them tell me it doesnt look good, but come back in a few months and we'll try again. So i did some more searching and finally came across Key West Ford. Prash was my dealer. He did an outstanding job helping my boyfriend and I out with everything. He asked what my needs were, and told me about this program they have to help you rebuild your credit. He said in 2 years, you will have your dream car, for now we will set you up with something older for now but still caters to your needs. We did the financials, even though my credit score was horrible and i work for myself, so trying to prove my income is a challenge. They worked with my boyfriend and I and they came up with a solution. Then Prash showed me what I would be starting in and how long i would be driving it for. It was a 2008 Ford Taurus. I was blown away. All the features and space this car had was amazing. There was a couple things i had to fix along the way, but now 8 months later, i am onto my second car. Everything was a bit easier this time and i was amazed at how much our credit had jumped. Prash got me into a 2016 Ford Focus sedan, from a 2008 Ford Taurus. I was just woowed at how much of a jump we did. I love my second car and definately can't wait to see what my dream car turns into or stays at the end of the year. When it comes to buying or leasing a vehicle, the options can be confusing.  To help you make an informed decision, we have provided the information below.  We hope you find it informatiive and useful.


When you buy a new or used vehicle, you pay for the entire cost of the vehicle including taxes.  When you lease a new or used vehicle, you pay for only a portion of the vehicle's cost, which is the part you use during the time you are driving it.

BUYING

Who Owns It?
Whether you pay for the car with cash, or finance it and make monthly payments, either way it's yours.  Of course, if you are financing it, you'll have to meet the obligations that the lender requires such as a certain down payment amount and timely monthly payments.  If you don't, they have the right to repossess it.

Up-Front Costs
If you are financing it, the bank will probably request a down payment.  You can also trade-in another vehicle and use any equity towards your down payment.  The amount of the down payment is usually based on the lender's requirements and your credit score.

Future Values
You vehicle will be worth whatever you can sell it for in the future and that depends on how well you maintain it.  (Be smart and protect your investment with regular scheduled maintenance by a factory-authorized facility)

End of Payments
Once you have paid off what you owe on your contract, that's it.  Your vehicle is 100% yours.  The lending institution will send you a Lien Release as proof that the vehicles is completely paid off and all yours.

LEASING


Who Owns It?
You do not own the vehicle when you lease.  You're paying for the use of the vehicle, but the finance institution that you leased it through actually owns it.  This is usually why you pay less per month in a lease than if you were to buy the car.

Up-Front Costs
Leases often do not require any type of down payment.  All you usually have to pay is the first month's payment, a security deposit, the acquisition fee and other fees.

Future Values
In most leases, you don't end up owning it so you don't end up selling it.  That's the financial institution's job.  Although you may have mileage limits and wear & tear guidelines that, if you don't exceed them, could cost you extra money when you turn your vehicle back in.

End of Payments
Most people return the vehicle at the end of the lease term.  But some like to purchase it during their lease or at the end.  Others like to trade it in before their lease is over.  Just ask us about these different options before signing any paperwork and we'll make sure you have your lease set up the way you want it.
