The 2019 Ford F-150
The 2019 F-150 has come to Vancouver - and it’s bringing class-shattering capability with it. Allow us to introduce you to premium pick-up performance.
Military-Grade Aluminum Framing
Doing something the right way often results in multiple benefits. Case in point: going from steel to high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloys in the F-150 body and bed. The fully boxed frame is made of more high-strength steel (up to 78 percent) and larger cross sections than the frame in the previous generation. And, while stronger and more rigid, this frame is also lighter by up to 60 lbs. (27 kg) because many of the components are fabricated using the state-of-the-art roll-forming process that minimizes weight. The results? Best-in-class horsepower, torque, payload and towing. A mighty hard performance to follow.
Towing and Payloads
The F-150 can tow more than any other pickup in its class – up to 13,200 lbs. (1451 kgs) with the available 3.5L EcoBoost® twin-turbo V6; while greater strength with less weight helps achieve a 3,270 lbs. (1483 kgs) payload rating in F-150 models powered by the legendary 5.0L V8. It’s no wonder, when it comes to capability and utility, the competition is always scrambling to follow this Ford leader.
Customizable Box Support
The F-150 offers not only best-in-class payload but also a pickup bed that can be equipped to make work easier and maximize productivity. Available features include: the BoxLink™ system, LED box lights, stowable loading ramps, an integrated tailgate step with lift assist, a remote tailgate release (lock or unlock and lower the tailgate), and exclusive deployable box side steps.
Engine Options
2.7L TURBOCHARGED ECOBOOST®
How can an engine displacing just 2.7 litres deliver a robust 325 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, all while maintaining impressive fuel efficiency? Engineer it with the port fuel and direct injection (PFDI) system — two injectors per cylinder, dual overhead cam design with variable intake/exhaust cam timing, and twin intercooled turbochargers for on-demand power. The 2.7L EcoBoost® with 10-speed transmission is every bit as strong, with its upper block and cylinders made of the high-strength compacted graphite iron used in the Super Duty® 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel.
3.5L ECOBOOST® V6
The 3.5L EcoBoost® with 10-speed transmission boasts impressive power ratings of 375 horsepower and best-in-class 470 lb.-ft. of torque, beating out all gas and diesel competitors. This engine delivers the F-150's best-in-class tow rating, too. Features include the port fuel and direct injection (PFDI) with two injectors per cylinder—one in the air intake port and another inside the cylinder—to increase performance. Plus twin intercooled turbos for on-demand power with virtually no lag.
3.5L DOHC 24-VALVE HIGH OUTPUT ECOBOOST®
The Baja-bred F-150 Raptor is perfectly at home on a typical paved road. But going from mild to wild on the most unforgiving terrain – now we’re in territory where the Raptor excels with its extraordinary capability, beginning with raw power. The Raptor is powered by a twin-turbo, intercooled DOHC 24-valve 3.5L EcoBoost® with port fuel and direct-injection system and 10-speed automatic, generating a massive best-in-class 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. And now, this high-output EcoBoost is the standard engine for luxury travel in the top-of-the-line Ford F-150 Limited.
3.3L Ti-VCT V6
With responsive power and capability, the 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 with 6-speed transmission can handle the demands of everyday jobs. The twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT) opens/closes the valves in precise duration to suit operating conditions, so power output is optimized at every point across the performance band. The 3.3L also has a port fuel and direct-injection system (PFDI): two injectors per cylinder, one mounted in the air intake port and another positioned inside the cylinder. The 6-speed automatic transmission has three selectable modes to suit the driving condition: Normal, Tow-Haul, and Sport.
5.0L TI-VCT V8
This legendary Ford V8 with 10-speed transmission delivers all the muscle you need plus best-in-class payload. Experience robust 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, courtesy of twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT), as well as port fuel and direct injection (PFDI) with two injectors per cylinder — one in the air intake port, another inside the cylinder — to improve power and efficiency. The 5.0L offers a CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package for conversion to compressed natural gas (CNG) or propane autogas.
3.0L POWER STROKE® TURBO DIESEL V6
The 3.0L Power Stroke® with 10-speed transmission delivers everything you’d expect from a tough Ford-built diesel. Start with durability. Power Stroke features a high-strength compacted graphite iron block, forged-steel crankshaft, and engine-driven fan moving a high volume of air under harsh temperature and altitude conditions. And performance? How does best-in-class in every diesel category sound? 11,400 lbs. (5,170kgs) towing — great news if you tow a lot for work or recreation; 1,940 lbs. (88 kg) payload; 250 horsepower at 3,250 rpm and 440 lb.-ft. of torque at just 1,750 rpm. Plus class-leading Government of Canada-estimated fuel efficiency to go with all that muscle.
